Deana and Andrew were both born and raised in Plantation, Florida but never met until after returning home from college. Both began working for their family business and enrolled at Nova Southeastern University to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration. Busy working and studying, they never got a chance to know each other. The last semester they had a group project together. Andrew seemed very confident he could do it and Deana was happy to allow him to! “He looks smart,” she thought.

A year later they happen to run into each other downtown. Depending on whom you ask, you will get different answers on who asked who out first. Now it is a joke and good thing someone did it! 
 

The Proposal

Andrew’s parents had a family trip scheduled to New York in December. Deana was really excited because not only does she love family vacation, she has never been to NY before Christmas. Andrew thought it was the perfect time! A few weeks before the trip, Andrew began discussing hotel and dinner reservations, a job that usually belongs to Deana. She began thinking, “Is this it!??!? NOOOOO.” She knows him so well but could not be sure about this!

So did his plan go accordingly? Fog in the city made travel time about 8 hours, their favorite Italian NY restaurant was crowded and louder than he remembered. After dinner they went to see the tree in Rockefeller Center. Once they arrived there were thousands of people and it began raining. As Deana ran for cover, Andrew threw in the towel. He could not find the perfect time that evening and decided it was best to wait. As they returned to their fabulous hotel suite, both Deana and Andrew pretended like everything was normal, even though they both knew it wasn’t.

Early the next morning he did it! He put the ring in her face and quietly asked, “Will you marry me?” Her initial response, “huh?” Once she realized what had happened it was of course a screaming yes with a bunch of hugs! Most certainly a surprise! He did it! They immediately called Deana’s parents to share the wonderful news and met Andrew’s family for a wonderful celebration dinner later that evening. The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating in the city.
